We Would Love
to Keep in Touch!

“Alleluia” resounds throughout our holy and blessed Church because the Lord, who once was dead and now is risen from the tomb and will never die again. As we believe, all of us share in his glory by virtue of our baptism.

The Risen Christ greeted his apostles in the upper room with “Peace be with you!” Jesus wants to remove our fears and confusion. Indeed we are an Easter people, living after the resurrection of the Lord and called to witness it to the whole world. This Easter peace can change our lives and move us closer to God.

As we hear the word “peace” often during this Easter season, what does it mean to us? Is it a peace only for ourselves and those close to us? No, he wants to share this gift with all God’s people and help us realize that he is truly risen. We must also remember that for Jesus, peace came to him only after he endured suffering and death.

The true and lasting peace from the Risen Christ is different from any other kind of peace. He has shared this joy freely with all the people of the world through his disciples.
May our Risen Lord bring peace and joy to you and your families! Just like the apostles who encountered the Risen Lord, we are to share our Easter joy with you all we meet.

La Salette Study Days: Planning for Our Future

myanmar_easter1.jpg

We La Salette Missionaries have been serving in this Myanmar District for five years. Our history includes our expulsion as La Salette Missionaries in 1978, and our reentry and the reestablishment of our ministry here on Nov. 18, 2005. We are therefore in the second phase of our history.

While our La Salette Study Days last year focused on the direction of the community as Myanmar La Salettes, this year’s gathering, from April 5-8, had as its purpose concretizing the program for our La Salette formation in the context of our mission in Myanmar. With much discussion as a community, our membership came to an agreement on many aspects of formation.

Fr. Jerome, M.S., facilitated the entire process under the leadership of Fr. Bernie Taylor, M.S. As many opinions were shared throughout these important study days, the direction of our program has become much clearer. With four aspirants waiting for our decisions and the beginning of our program, we feel that our Aspirancy Program — for those who wish to explore entrance into our religious community —must begin as soon as possible. Pray for us as we make good beginnings!tion for visual above: Celebration of the reimplantation of La Salettes in Myanmar, Nov 18, 2005.
